DIY Hand-painted Candle Holders

Easy and great look....find favorite looking pieces at a flea market or dollar store and as long as it has a cut design like this one...then it's easy. Spray paint your favorite base color...let dry...paint on the black and before it dries wipe it with a wet towel so that the black only stays in the grooves...lightly dry brush more black on the flat parts and last clear coat.  DONE and marvelous!

DIY Headboard!
I found these closet doors at a yard sale a few years ago for 5 bucks.....I knew I'd find a way to use them.  I decided to saw them the middle of the wide portion between the top and the bottom.  I then glued broken slats and painted them purple.

I then found a scrap piece of wood at a friend's house (it was a yard sale sign) and I laid it across the back of the painted pieces and put in screws so that each piece had two to three screws in it.

I then placed it between the head of my bed and the wall.  note: I placed the shorter pieces in the middle for a more uniform look.

How to organize your bras!!
Okay!.......so I don't really have a cupcake bra with cherries on top (although that would be fitting considering my profession haha) but I do have a ton of them and they were in need of organizing...

so here's what I did.....I saw this technique at my favorite place to browse for mentionables and thought...."if they store bras this way I should too." Come to find out it helps keep the cupcake holders (cups) in good shape. Easy!!

Removing Paint Scuffs on Car
I really really wish I had taken a before shot for this entry but I still have to share!! This is the front bumper of my car...my dear sweet sweetheart slid past a bright yellow pole in a drive through.  It put four major yellow paint marks across this very fender area about a foot long.......!!!! Now look! I bought a rubbing compound at the store in the auto section. Simple instructions....just put a quarter size amount on scuffs and rub in circles....now it does take some real effort but it worked so well that I walked around the car looking for any other marks!!! Love this!!

Cherry Blossom Cake

This is a picture of a cake that I made for my sweet lil sis. This cherry blossom cake was for her baby shower. This design is not difficult to use.  You can even take a sheet cake and make this design across the top.  The vines were made from rolling chocolate fondant on a table and gradually getting skinnier at the ends.  The flowers were cut out of a flattened piece of two different shades of pink fondant. You can find many different flower cutters at craft stores. Lightly press the edges and then attach them to the vines with vodka or a clear strong extract such as lemon. Add a little buttercream to the centers and done!
